In Moab canyon country the forces of nature have created a paradise of undulating rock, convoluted desert to mountainous terrain amid a maze of canyons and mesas. During the 50's and 60's the mining industry probed this entire area in search of uranium and other minerals, creating a network of doubletrack trails across every kind of geological formation known to man. These funky old mining routes take you into very remote country and are more rugged and solitary than what you will find in crowded national parks, at times much more scenic, and certainly more complex and confusing. As a mountain biker, your first challenge is choosing a trail appropriate to your skills and desires. The next is finding your way in relative safety. Most important is avoiding unwanted adventures. Dreamride is here to help with everything from guides to accommodations.

By association with the Bureau of Land Management, the National Parks Service, the National Forest Service, the Utah State Educational Trust Lands, Utah Sovereign Lands, and private land owners, Dreamride offers more permitted trails in the Moab area than any other outfitter. Dreamride LLC offers well over 150 routes in the Moab area alone. All vacations require a skills evaluation and environmental mountain bike training session prior to access to sensative environments. Advanced routes or extreme slickrock are only advised for very experienced cyclists. The more you ride with us, the more you learn about the environment, the more we learn about you, the more exotic the rides become.

Ride hard ~ rest easy ~ care for life

In 1996 Dreamride originated a unique environmental approach to mountain bike touring in the Mecca of the sport, Moab, Utah. Focusing on the smallest possible groups matched in skills and interests with trails carefully chosen to suit personal abilities and interests, these methods allow guides to share thrills, safety, solitude and a clear environmental conscience.

Moab cycling Not only did the advent of a Republican administration mean more oil and gas wells, the rebirth of uranium mining and the start of a huge copper strip mine near Moab, it has allowed land management agencies to loosen restrictions on trail building. A trail "advocacy" group in town is building trails that show little or no understanding of the ecological challenges of remaining balanced with our environment as mountain bikers in such an unusual place. Click on the image above for examples of how poor trail design and location can be the destruction of entire desert ecosystems. environment first Don't bust the crust!
Dreamride's mountain bike vacation services began in 1996 after a privately-funded study of the effects of commercial mountain biking on sub-desert ecosystems. Your safety and enjoyment, as well as preservation of fragile ecosystems, are our prime concerns. Your first ride serves as an environmental awareness and skills evaluation to enable our staff to tune the series of daily rides to skills, interests and maturity of the individual, couple or group. Moab slickrock skills clinics Leave Moab a better cyclist.
Dreamride's private skills clinics have been featured on Good Morning America and in Sunset Magazine. We not only give you the skills to handle your bike, but to ride with respect for the environment. You have to be good to travel in places where the ground is alive and extremely fragile.
